Meet San Diego Periodontist, Dr. Stephen H. Munroe, DDS & Diplomat of the American Academy of Periodontology
Dr. Stephen H. Munroe was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Toronto, Canada. He completed his undergraduate education at McGill University and went on to Howard University in Washington D.C. to become a dentist. Dr. Munroe then made his way to the west coast to become a Periodontist completing his studies at University of Southern California. Dr. Munroe enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, Diego and Sota. When he is not in the office, you can find him brewing beer, playing baseball, or enjoying a Padres game with friends.
Dr. Stephen H. Munroe is a board-certified periodontist who specializes in tooth extraction, gum grafting, gum reduction, dental implants, periodontal surgery, and bone grafting. He is also certified to administer I.V. Sedation to help ease the anxiety of our patients. Additional examinations and course study were required after a 3 year surgical residency to become Board Certified. Board certification in periodontology denotes someone who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty, including demonstrating a comprehensive mastery of all phases of periodontal disease and treatment and in the placement of dental implants.
